Play at a Retail Location

After long wait for the Herald exam to become 4th edition, I can finally have my groups recognized by the RPGA! However, I have the following problem:

We play at the FLGS. I am planning on making some of the events be Retail for some people to jump in and play. But once I go to "Event Sanctioning" and enter Retail in the drop down box, I get "You currently do not have any approved locations for sanctioning this type of event. Please contact the DCI/RPGA to set up an approved location."

How do I fix this? A phone call?

Instructions are here:

If you're going to run games before you get your location approved, then you should be able to sanction them as home games in the meantime. (Not ideal, but doable.)

Somehow my search in question database failed to pull up that response. Many thanks for the rapid reply!

Follow-up question: Will that mean I have to get on the shop owners to get the WPN location approved or can I as an Herald get it set up? My game store already hosts Friday Night Magic and the like.

If they already run FNM then that store is already set up as an approved WPN retail location. You just have to get it connected with your DCI/RPGA number, which you can do by following the instructions in the other post. You don't necessarily need to get the store owner involved in that.

the new locations you apply for "home" can also then be used for retail. dunno if this is legal though.

more of it was discussed here
