Reporting with missing DCI numbers

I have a few days left to report an event in which all players have or obtained DCI cards. However, one forgot to write his down on the tracking sheet and another claimed that his is an old 7-digit number, which I have read in other forums needs a "10" put in front of it to make it right. I tried that and it doesn't work. I get an error message telling me it's invalid.

Anyway, I need to get this event reported and I haven't heard from either of the players whose numbers I don't have yet. Can I go ahead and report the other four players and add the last two later or do I have to wait for the other two numbers and risk being delinquent?

I have read that being delinquent is "no big deal", but I prefer to be on time! =)

Thanks.

Once you report the event, you can't go back in and add additional players, so you can't report some now, and the others later.

Yes, the one player's 7-digit number *should* be able to be be "updated" by adding "10" to the front of it.  If that's giving you an error, you may want to suggest that he contact Customer Service to see if they need to do anything with his account.  Offhand, the only reason I can think of why it wouldn't be working is if he had an old RPGA number which he'd never actually used...my understanding is that old, "unactivated" RPGA cards (with less than 10-11 digits) won't work at all, even if you add those digits to them.

On the other hand, it could also be an old DCI number, in which case it should be used "as is", rather than adding anything on to it, as those numbers are still good, and the reason why the RPGA numbers got bumped...

I tried it "as is", but it still didn't work. I'm thinking he just remembers it wrong. He doesn't have the actual card, just a number in his head.
