My wizard borrowed a +1 flaming quarterstaff as an implement for a short period of time. The GM rolled and decided it was a weapon suited to me for the duration of the adventure. However, I don't really want a magical weapon suited to fighting, I want one better suited to a wizard... and a wand, preferably, so I took the money. |

Use the regular everyday rules unless the campaign docs say otherwise. They don't say you can't use items found as treasure during the adventure. 4e makes magic item identification trivial; the items are intended to be used when found, so use them. No problem. If so, must the party member select that item as his reward at the end of the adventure? Generally, no, he doesn't have to select it as his reward. Why would he? Selecting the reward is an abstraction of dividing up the loot, not some record of who has previously used or touched an item. David |
