RPGA Player Rewards

I was wondering if you receive rewards for playing in a sanctioned RPGA event. I have looked around on the website and found multiple links to the DM rewards page, but nothing about player rewards. I had been told that players were eligible for rewards as well and was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks
bobp.

There are no longer player rewards for the RPGA. WotC made the decision to switch to DM Rewards instead. For many people, unfortunately, there are also no DM rewards because the Wizards of the Coast website (or database) is not working properly.

Oh, boo. I was really hoping that they still did that. Oh well, maybe the players in my game will take up running their own games at some point.

Anyone can sign up for DM rewards, I think, and if you do you get sent a reward once a year for keeping your contact information up to date. This year it was the Village of Hommlet 4e adventure.

DMs who run five RPGA sessions in a six-month period receive a reward. The first of these were the ship tiles.

Anyone having problems getting their reward points (and certain that games they've GM'd are being reported by the organisers) should contact customer service. You can email them via the 'Email Us' tab there, and if that returns an error, see the thread linked in my signature!

Hope that helps!

The new site actually has fairly decent information on rewards.

With that said does anyone know if you can still get Village of Hommlet, if you sign up for the rewards right now???

The last I heard was there is still a yearly mailing just for being a member. You just have to make sure you contact information is up to date.

I hope to GM some 4e games in the future in a home group and I would like to get DM Rewards, however with no PLayer Rewards I am wondering what motivation players would have to get a DCI/RPGA Membership.

If they don't go to cons and play in RPGA games other than my private home game (I don't plan to run LFR) I can see some players maybe asking why they should bother. I can say that teh DM Rewards I get can be useful and I can run adventures etc but this may not cut it.

Has anyone got any suggestions on player "rewards" official or otherwise to convince players to sign up?

I like to print up a set of 2008's Reward Cards, and give players who sign up for the RPGA a pair of printed cards for their character.  I also bring my Village of Homlett adventure so that they can look at an example of what they can get for signing up for rewards.

Can anyone get the 2008 rewards cards, and are they still valid for play?  As for the Village of Homlett, well that is an example of what thehyy could get if they signed up for DM rewards, however I don't imagine any of them would do that - I just want them to be willing to join the RPGA for what is effectively a private home game.

Yes and yes.  The file is password-protected, but I imagine it'd be simple enough to find the password, if you don't already have it.
