As somebody who is interested in the RPGA and what it has, I have a quick question.

Is there any way I could get any sort of result, benefit, etc, if I never have the chance to attend an offical event? (Home Play, or whatever it is called).

Really? Nobody has an answer for me?

Really I think the question is kinda confusing or doesn't need an answer unless I'm missing something.

I read it as 'Do I get anything for doing nothing?' to which the answer is 'of course not'

then again there are tons of people who run games at their house and have a blast without going anywhere (other than the bathroom).

Right now I think resources are focused on public play events because that's what brings new people into the game. Playing at home is great fun but not really as much bang for your buck.

No, it was't something for nothing. That would be stupid. I just remember hearing about something where DMs could track the hours their groups played, and send them in, and they would get something (this may have been the DM Rewards programs), but I don't remember details. Is that more helpful?

It used to be that a DM who sanctioned his home play under the RPGA, would earn points towards the DM Rewards program.  The program has been revised (again) recently and only public play counts currently.

If you are looking for rewards, but you are solely playing a home campaign, you might consider running a few D&D Gamedays at your FLGS. Gamedays have rewards for the DMs, the games count as games that may land you additional rewards for DMing public games, you get to see new product, and you get to meet new players (which can be helpful down the road if anyone leaves your campaign).

You may also enjoy variety in your game. A home campaign on the weekends and running LFR on a weeknight at a store could be a lot of fun and the differences can inspire creativity and please your gaming itch in different ways.
