Post needs stickied?
Want something moved out of an area?
Threads need closed?

I'm your guy!

Leave a note here (or PM me - or if its really urgent send me a message via AIM) and I'll take care of your requests.

For reference as VCL I can handle the following requests:
  • Post sticky/unstick
  • Marking a thread as "do not archive"
  • Moving threads
  • Merging/Splitting threads
  • Closing threads
  • Custom Title/Custom Avatar assignment (usually related to contests, but also available in special cases on request)

What I can NOT do as VCL:
  • Delete threads
  • Ban/Suspend posters

Limited Access:
  • Creation of new RPGA Forums and Sub Forums.
  • Closure of old RPGA forums (yes, I'm still working on that)

These lists subject to change as needed.

Enjoy!

This thread is going to be marked Do Not Archive, and added to my signature for easy reference.

Can you get them to resurrect an archived thread?

I'm not really sure. Let me check up on that.

As noted in the other thread, when WolfStar76 is away, I will also be watching this thread for requests and such.

None, I'll hand my poking stick over to MB for the time being as I'm going to be a ghost for a few days.

The last couple of times that requests like that have been made, it was impossible for it to be extracted.

That being said, there is no harm in asking. The more detail that you can provide, the better. This is not a trivial task for them to do, so it takes time to find out if the particular thread can be extracted or not.

I will head on over to the forum in question (Star Wars: Mess Hall: Dawn of Defiance) and put in a request.

Hopefully that forum has a VCL...

Yup. I believe that it is Ironlightsaber. Very, very good VCL.

Heh. It was a thread in his index that got archived. Request posted, and reposted in a VCL request thread per other poster's suggestion.

If it works out, maybe he can add the link back into the index, too.

Official word finally came back.

Once a thread hits the archive - it stays there. There is no resurrection.

Still archived, but the link to the archived thread is back in the index, at least. Not resurrected, but at least accessible...

While note a "request" obviously (since it would be silly to request it of myself) I wanted to let everyone know that I'm sorry I've been a little unresponsive of late.

Wife and I just signed a lease on a new apartment last week, and hope to move this coming weeked, which has kept me busy. Works' been busier than normal (which happens from time to time) and to top it all off, I'm sick right now and can't think straight. (I'm going on 20 minutes writing this post now).

So, outstanding VCL requests have sorta slid by the wayside.

I should be feeling better tomorrow, and will try to get back on track shortly thereafter.

Because it looks like I'm going to be acting as a news source for the RPGA Community going forward, I've requested the addition of an RPGA Announcements forum to be created.

This RPGA Announcement forum will only allow NEW threads by VCLs/ORCs/WotCs - however once a thread is opened, anyone should be able to post replies.

It sounds like I have quite a few things I'll be passing along to you guys over the next week(s) - and I'd like to think that having a single, consolidated section of the forums for all the "news" would be beneficial for everyone involved.

For now, I'm going to keep adding news to RPGA General, and will move it accordingly if/when I get my announcements forum. If you have other suggestions about how you'd prefer I issue/locate news articles, please feel free to post your ideas/suggestions in this thread.

Additionally, becuase we now share so much with the DCI, I've requested a link to the DCI Forums as well. BillBo is VCL over there - and he's a great guy with lots of great insider contacts for the WPN as a whole. I really recommend giving those forums a visit (especially as RPGA questions have started to pop-up over there from time-to-time now.

Thanks all!

But, but, but they play Magic over there. I can't my roleplayers mix with those evil card gamers. All they do is complain and moan about the good old days... or is that us old-time RPGA gamers (which does include me)... it is difficult to get things straight now a days with all these changes ;)

I can!

I doubt the answer will be anything new "We're working on it" - but I can look.

any news on this issue?

Just noting that both WolfStar and I are at Origins this week. I've got fairly limited access to the Web until I get home, and I don't know if WS has any access at all. So, even if he's gotten an answer (keep in mind a lot of RPGA folks are here, and busy, this week, too), he may not have a chance to post it for a bit.

I'm not Wolfstar, or a VCL, but I'd be surprised if there is ever a Star Wars test.

For two reasons: I vaguely recall someone who's responsible for the Judges' Center posting here quite a while back saying that no-one from the organized play team had asked for a SW test, and secondly I was told by Customer Services today that you no longer need to take a test to become an RPGA organiser, so people who want to organise sanctioned SW games don't need to learn any D&D rules.

Whether the CS person was correct or not is something I'm trying to get clarified - mainly via Wolfstar as he's great at poking WotC people until they reply - but if the CS person was right, people just need to go to http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dci/wpn and follow the instructions. Apparently the test is not one which requires study, though I don't know what the questions are! (I'm guessing it's procedural stuff which is entirely clear from the wording of the questions, just to prove you've read the procedures).
