| #1Geer_Feb 27, 2010 17:16:48 | I was wondering what, if any, the policy of the RPGA is for sanctioning a private, home game (e.g. for DM rewards), if the event technically isn't being held in one specific location, but is being conducted over the internet with a virtual map, voice chat, etc. Is there any difference if players aren't in the same city, or even in the same state/province? |

This means that you will not be able to run adventures which are restricted to public play only (e.g. Living Forgotten Realms ADCP adventures, or adventures under the new 'public play first' embargo). Apart from that, though, just go ahead and sanction it. You do not have to provide venue info for private play, so create the event, name a date when you think you'll be able to report it (you may end up having to split the adventure over a couple of sessions as online play sometimes takes longer than face-to-face) and play! If you're running your own campaign, just sanction an event for each time you plan to get together, and give yourself one point for each session you run. |

It used to be (before the RPGA was folded into the DCI system) that you could hold a "game day" with the Online location designator, and have it listed as a public event. No more; you are limited to private play with an online game now. |
