| #1d_gibbJun 07, 2009 1:51:21 | Hi, I have just recently attained Herald status, and I want to start running a LFR campaign. I don't know how well this will work, because my group wants to get together Monday night and play, but only one of my players is in the RPGA. Not a problem, you say? Use the cards and sign them up, you say? Well, I have yet to receive the cards which I ordered (I only ordered them this week, after all), and don't quite know what to do in this case. For instance, how quickly to report things? Do I wait until I have the cards, get them signed up, and go from there? How long to wait before I exceed the 'report in a timely manner' window? Just curious. I want to do this and get it right to avoid headaches later. |

I don't know how well this will work, because my group wants to get together Monday night and play, but only one of my players is in the RPGA. There are a couple options you can take here. The simplest would be to print the reporting form that comes with the module download, record everyone's name, and the module played, answer the adventure questions on the form, and keep that form until you DO get DCI numbers for everyone. Then you can report your session later. To speed up the hunt for DCI numbers - if there are any game stores in your area that run Magic: the Gathering tournaments, you might ask them if you can have a short stack of DCI cards - most stores end up with more cards than they can reasonably use, so this shouldn't be a problem. (Of course, it never hurts to patronize these stores either. ;) ) Lastly - because the reporting deadline for DM Rewards points to get the first DM Rewards (Ship-based Dungeon Tiles), if you want to get your users numbers in a hurry to report before the 30th - you can also have them Contact Wizards Customer Service - who should be able to generate DCI numbers for them. Customer Service is, as always available at www.wizards.com/customerservice. I also wouldn't be surprised if a poster or two from here offer you some numbers via PM. |
