Is it possible to sanction public and/or private sessions using the scenarios out of the Dungeon Delve book rather than using the monthly Delve mod?

I'm a new DM and though it would be interesting to have a weekly delve starting at level 1 continuing through level 30, allowing players to level up thier character each week. It would help me get up to speed as a DM quickly and give players the opportunity to playtest certain character builds all the way through Epic tier at an accelerated rate. Sanctioning them would allow me to advertise a bit via the site, and help with DM and player rewards. Thanks for any help.

You can sdanction them, yes. Maybe not as the monthly Dungeon Delve, but there are game formats to use to sanction them.

I was thinking about doing somethign similar, although the delves don't provide enough XP and magic items to work as a stand-alone campaign, they need to be fleshed out a bit.

You could also use the Scales of War adventure path from Dungeon...

Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks like this ;)

I have used the Dungeon Delve book as a training tool for new DMs in a couple cases, and it seems to have worked out pretty well. Also, I highly suggest that you continue to order and sanction gamedays at your FLGS, but make sure to flag them as " D&D Home Campaign (Forgotten Realms)" or "D&D Home Campaign (Other)" if you will not be using the pre-printed Delves.

The distributed Delve materials can reflect on a store's performance under the Premiere guidelines; if players see "Delve Night" on the calendar of events but arrive only to discover that it's not the actual printed Delve (regardless if it's from the book or not), it may show poor performance on behalf of the store.

Kinda stinks, as we have yet to see some kind of rhyme & reason to the distribution of printed Delves.

Ah well - use the book, run it through! I love the set up of the materials and it's awesome to see you interested in such an ambitious project!

Thanks for the tips everyone. As for linking the campaigns, I'm not really going to try, at least initially. At most I'll frame it as Retired Adventurers recounting their most famous exploits in the local tavern.

I'm not going to worry about XP either, just have players level up their characters each week. I'll probably have to keep a couple of pregens constantly leveled as well just in case.

For treasure & magic I'm going to dole out level appropriate GP and Magic Items. I'll base magic items available on the party classes and allow them to suggest items they'd like to see. Though it might be easier to just let them choose whatever they want, that might get out of hand quickly. Of course they can buy anything they don't find...hmm maybe I should only give out 70% of level appropriate gold? Does anyone thing it will matter that much?
