I had a reminder on my calendar to order this as I read it would be up for ordering as of yesterday.  Any news on when it will be available?  Did I misread the date (entirely possible)?

Thanks in advance,

Yeah, was looking for this myself.

I would speculate that it will be added to the ordering system once WotC's offices are opened for business.

I can't say for certain, but it appears that adding things to the Organized Play database is a manual process.

It's available as of this morning

Does it have its own entry on the event type drop-down menu? If so it doesn't seem to have been turned on for the UK yet - at least, I can't find it!

Yes, there are two new event types: one for the normal version, and one for the download-only version.

Got it ordered, so yeah it's on there.  No prompting for number of kits needed or anything, but it's on our list.

Is this a "shorter" Weekend in the Realms than last year? The Icy Queen's Crossing is a pretty short adventure. Are there gonna be two follow-up parts like Beneath Haunted Halls had last year?

Or, are we looking at a one adventure event?

It is a one-round adventure, like a normal LFR adventure.  I think WotC got complaints last year that the event was too long.  Too many people just wanted a 3-4 hour play experience with a complete game, and the 12+ hour marathon that the adventure could turn into wasn't what many venues wanted.

I have a couple of suggestions for a little longer play experience.  First, schedule some other LFR adventures to run on that weekend, particularly for 1st time LFR players.  What I am strongly considering doing, depending on the venue where I end up running the adventure, is to create a My Realms adventure that will run before "The Icy Queen's Crossing."  When you read the adventure, you will see that between the adventure's opening and the real substance of the adventure, the PCs travel.  I did it that way to give the DMs the option to create a My Realms adventure that could turn that "uneventful" trip into one that could be its own adventure.  In addition, that would give brand new PCs the chance to get some treasure, gold, potions, etc. before going into "The Icy Queen's Crossing."

Ah, bummer. But thanks for the quick answer. I like your suggestions to extend the event and make it feel more like a "Weekend." I think we'll run with both ideas depending on who DMs for my event.

Should still be fun and the adventure looks great.

We had problems with last year in that not everyone could get through all three parts.  My preference is the shorter adventure format... unsure but it would be swell if these sorts of events could offer up either an item that can't be found anywhere else or a story reward that is of some use later on (who knows, this one might actually be!)

I'm guessing the special rule regarding the treasure bundle is going to drive demand! In fact, I'm worried I may not be able to find enough DMs because no one will want to miss the free magic item.

That's why it is being made available more than 2 months before the game day.  People should have plently of time to "slot-0" the adventure, letting DMs play beforehand and then run it for many, many players at Weekend in the Realms.  :-)

It's still not available for me - probably as I'm in the UK.

I've asked customer services what's up, but if anyone else outside the US manages to sanction it, a heads-up in this thread would be great, and save me checking the sanctioning system every day!

Same goes for me. I'm unable to order it although I'm a Core level organizer and got multiple venues on my name. Anyone else outside US been able to order it yet?

Will try to go through WPN support to check my account, but it should all be alright.

I've ordered it outside the US without any problem. But, I'm in Canada and I think we use the same systems as the US, so I don't know how helpful that is to you.

So, once the download version of this adventure is sanctioned, where do you go to actually download it?

Like all RPGA adventures, it will appear as a clickable name in your Events listing.  Find the respective Event, open it, and you will find the adventures listed at the bottom.  If they are blue and clickable, download away the pdf.

When I ordered it the download had the PC cards and the module and other information in it.

Same here.

In fact, I've already converted the module to an FGII module and, time permitting, will attempt to port the pregen characters into FGII as welll (this is both more difficult and simpler than usual - as the mini-sheets included don't really indicate where/why bonuses exist).

Looks like a good intro mod to me.

Thanks all for the info. It finally appeared for me, just took a little longer than usual.

I have sanctioned and downloaded the files for WitR, but I do not understand how to order the kits to the retail location that is hosting us.  Are the kits automatically ordered when I had the event sanctioned?

I am in the US, and I have the store registered with WPN.

Physical Retail Kit ordering for RPGA events is always limited-time only while supplies last, and that time had ended some time ago for WitR. Digital Download is now the only option available.
