| #1dravidiusNov 03, 2008 14:45:34 | Hey i am new to this, just got all my testing and such out of the way and have downloaded my first LFR game to run this Sunday at my local comic store. We are going to play from 5ish to about 9ish, but I may have new players who do not know how to really play so the going may be a little slow to give them a chance to learn. If we do not get through all the encounters of the game and finish it, what do I do? Do I sanction another run of the game and pick up where we left off? Is there an official word on this and/or has it happened to any of you before? Any help would be appreciated greatly! Thanks a lot. |

The *best* option, of course, is to not run out of time - as the GM that may mean speeding up combats a little (perhaps the NPCs have lower AC, or fewer HPs), or fast-forwarding narratives or skill challenges (3 sucesses instead of 5 needed. . . ). However, it does happen that sometimes you need to stop playing before you're done. There are a couple options. First, you have 8 days from the date that the sanctioned event is to have happened to report the event (Happy, pedr? ;) ). If its possible to get everyone together again in that window, you could always play again from where you left off. Assuming that's not possible, you can just assign the Gold/XP for what *was* completed in the time allowed, and offer the treasures that were found (in the back of the module is a list of how much GP/XP each encounter is potentially worth - and the Adventure Bundles are usually listed along with where each bundle is found). Because characters can't play an adventure a 2nd time - I suggest you confer with the players first to make sure they're aware of the options. |

However, should you agree to complete at a later date, you shouldn't book it as a new adventure, it is after all the same one; and none of the characters should be used for any other games until this one is completed, as they could potentially change after the adventure, equipment, level etc. |

It is better to end early than late and miss all the cool stuff in between. Understand you may not have this option depending on the time constraints of the location you are playing. |
