For the life of me i cant figure out how to sign up and get an rpga number.  Where do I go or how do I do this?  The closest places to me by the encounters map say 13 miles or so but in real life they are actually with construction about 25 miles and this is to far to go for right now with my job bieng unstable.  Any help appreciated as i am running games for my son and his friends out of my house and this is new for all of us.

There is no easy way to get an RPGA number without going to a store.  If you wish to become a TO and run sanctioned home events, then you can sign up to do so here and then request DCI cards to get your family and friends RPGA/DCI numbers.

Hope that helps,

Hi,

The sign-up process for Private Play only GMs (who do not want to run public events at a public venue) has changed recently. Details are below, but first it's worth asking what it is you want from the RPGA. At the moment, the only reason to join the RPGA is to run Living Forgotten Realms adventures. For more details on that shared-world campaign, come to community.wizards.com/lfr - otherwise the RPGA provides no benefits, and the hoops you have to jump through are not worth it. WotC organised play has two main strands - LFR (which can be played in private, but is designed to support large events as well as small groups) and the store-based programmes such as Game Days and D&D Encounters, which can only be organised through game stores.

If you do want to sign up to the RPGA, instructions are here: wizards.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wizards.cfg... - essentially you have to obtain an RPGA or DCI number (the easiest way is to go to a game store which runs Magic or organised D&D events and ask for one), then you need to email Wizards and ask them to authorise you to create private play D&D events. People in the Americas should use the customer service system at www.wizards.com/customerservice - people elsewhere may find that this works, or may find that contacting their local WPN/DCI/Hasbro office is quicker. Contact details are here: www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dci/sancti...

You will then need to ask a store to give you membership cards for your players as well.

People who want to run public D&D events can use the simpler system of filling in the form here: www.wizards.com/Company/WPN/Join.aspx
