Why is the RPGA/DCI website so hard to use? It is the most confusing, non-intuitive website I have ever seen. Somebody needs to do redo that site to make it much more user friendly.

In mid-february we were told at DDXP that the D&D/RPGA website would be getting a revamp sometime between now and this summer.

I don't know if this will include the DCI member's site, but we can hope.

lol

I just had to get a new venue approved for a convention this May before I can order the mods. Now THERE is a difficult task...

I'm quite good a sniffing out procedures and using search/help utilities, but it still took me a good 10 minutes of steady work to figure out how to do this simple task.

One thing to keep in mind is that the RPGA database system is fundamentally the DCI database system. RPGA used to have its own, separate database, but it was ported over the DCI system last summer. The DCI system was originally created to support CCGs like Magic, and I suspect that there are things that RPGA requires which don't fit well in the CCG-oriented structure of the DCI database.

Then again, I'm no database guy, so I may be completely off-base on this.

Thats why I think they should scrap both of the old systems and make one WPN system from scratch.

I think they should have just done it right the first time. But that's me.

It is old, each part isn't horrible, but it has had layer upon layer built on it with no real growth plan. I hate the site, but I understand how it got to where it is. I look forward to the rebuild, I suspect they are wiser to their likely issues than they were last time.
