In case you haven't seen the big banner at the top of every forum:
We are taking the forums down on Tuesday, August 18th for approximately one week. We are pleased to announce that we’re upgrading to a new community platform. On the 18th, we will begin the process of migrating our forums to a system that includes new features such as friends lists, groups, a calendar and invitation system, blogs, and wikis. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but excited about the new features!
I should think that 'urgent' LFR questions could be posed at the LivingFR Yahoo! Group, here: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/LivingFR/ and see sites like http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Living_Forgotten_Realms:Main_Page and http://www.lfr-oxford.oxif.org/ for links to other places on the net.

I hadn't even realized these migrated boards were (semi)live now.

Thank Bahamut the boards are back! Now I can abandon Facebook. Wink

Things don't seem too bad here. Load times are decent (once all the profile stuff finally gets finished). Perhaps I will be (GASP!) pleasantly surprised by the new forums.

Interesting features, I look forward to seeing them in wider use.

As for you... can I "borrow" that DMG again? ;)

While it's going to sound sarcastic, if Dan's happy, I'm happy.

Since I know (think?) Dan's on dial-up, hearing him be positive about load times makes me a happy camper.

As per my sig, however, please DO note that the community site is still considered to be in beta.  Trust me, a LOT has changed in the last 10 days (bugs squashed, features added/fixed/removed, etc) and I expect the rate of change will remain high for weeks, if not months to come.

One of the items I understand to be on the list, for example, is re-ordering forums back to the layout we're accustomed too, instead of this blasted alphabetical order that's been thrust upon us.

And until this afternoon you couldn't tell what threads you'd already read or not.

So do not disparage - like it, love it, or hate it, the new site is getting better day-by-day.
