May 01, 2008 9:02:27 So, just kinda curious here. We have the Transformers movie that came out, what, last year? Now we have a G.I. Joe live action movie coming out soon. These two IP's are owned by Hasbro, WotC is owned by Hasbro. I think they would make EXCELLENT games. Are we gonna see at least a nod in the direction of these two updates as settings with some 4e rules? Please :D Pretty please...

May 01, 2008 17:35:27 A GIJoe TCG was released...two years ago I think. I'm not sure that the first expansion set was ever released, it was shut down that fast. A Transformers "constructible card game" (or something like that) was released last year. I'm pretty sure that an expansion set was released not to long ago, but it looks like that product has also been cancelled.

RPG wise, G.I.Joe would probably work just fine with d20 Modern rules, and I believe that there were a couple discussions about a homebrew Transformers RPG in the Transformers card game board.

However, fwiw, I've pretty much completely lost faith in WotC supporting anything but their primary two products. They could probably make a fantastic GIJoe or Transformers setting book, but it would likely be riddled with errors, would never get additional books and have pretty much zero customer service support.

Hey, I'd be happy if GI Joe was set up as a splatbook/supplement for d20 Modern. I could see a few books for the line, maybe a GI Joe sourcebook, a Cobra sourcebook, and a campaign sourcebook, but that's about it. Same for Transformers. I'm just curious why they don't capitalize on these two franchises, even if they just make a limited print run, I doubt that they'd have any left over stock. I know I'd buy. :D
