a problem about paladin

Jan 02, 2009 2:34:42 I`m sorry to ask such a terrible question here.

But some one use it to make a big fat trouble in a BBS which I always keep my eyes on.

And it make me crazy to argue with him,finally I get here and call for help.

the question is:will a paladin eat a still-born child(an baby dead already)?

after this question, the asker said this with a strong manner:

"no rules in the rulebook said that a paladin of tyr eat neither people nor still-born child.

And no rules said that, eating is evil."

that is crap enough, I wish someone can help me to shut this crazy guy`s mouth up.

p.s.may be I write this thing in an wrong palce like LFR.....sorry for that

Jan 02, 2009 21:16:43 It isn't, technically, evil. But it is a disrespectful, undisciplined, and hideous act that a paladin would, in most religions, abhor and be seen as a terrible person for.

As a paladin of Tyr, given the typical mediums, he would be under dire circumstances: If he was given permission by the mother or the mother died, he was unable to obtain any other food source, and was likely to starve to death as far as his awareness if he didn't eat said baby, I can see cannibalism as a forgivable act, albeit with heavy repentance required.

Otherwise he is acting in a strongly evil fashion. To avoid these confrontations about "In the rules blah blah blah", remind him this: The books are not codified laws. They are guidelines for the DM to rule a game. If you say baby-eating is evil, it is evil even if the book says its a LG act. The DM's word > the book's word.
