I am looking for creatively-minded people who would like to help me craft a Universe and then take part in playing in a campaign. The Universe is at the bare-bones right now, and will be a Realistic Space Sci-Fi type. Think Space: Above and Beyond. Think the WingCommander series. Think Battlestar Galactica. If you are at all interested, please contact me at mandor1784@gmail.com. I look forward to working with you and building a world that can be entirely our own. |

| #3mandor1784_dupJan 14, 2009 20:56:24 | It would be our own creation, fitting the universe. And really? I can see that, yes, 2001 is *more* realistic than BSG, but as far as science fiction settings go, BSG is pretty damn realistic--no lasers, shields, restrictive FTL, religion, etc etc etc. |
| #4elondirJan 15, 2009 9:57:50 | My world builder program (show My Creations) has a random star system generator that relies on stats I calculated from the big Celestia database and my advanced astrophysics texbook. I also referenced several papers to get the equations right for all the different types of stars and planets. |

Fleet formation is one of the most important parts. I've been working on a space ship maker over in D20 modern but have lapsed because no one was posting one it. |

The stargates have the mass of a planet and so are found only in space, are not portable nor found on the surface of a planet as in Stargate SG1. III. The stargates require gravity fields, ultra dense forms of matter and exotic matter. IV. Stargates have two parts: The Gate, and the wormhole A. The Gate is a ring-shaped satellite orbiting the wormhole,1. The ring is 1000 km in diameter 2. Anything entering through the ring gate is dematerialized, scanned and the information is transmitted through the wormhole to another ring gate on the otherside in a different star system. The receiving ring gate receives the information and reconstructs the object by converting energy into matter. The whole process takes a fraction of a second. V. Spaceships use rockets, relying on reaction mass, and have no artificial gravity or enertial dampners VI. Era is possibly the late 21st century or the 22nd century, not too far into the future though, because the technology would depart further from what we could grasp, and thus seem more like magic than like applications of the laws of physics as we know them. |
