According to ENWorld and Lisa Stevens (Paizo CEO) Pathfinder has outsold D&D 4e last quarter. Food for thought. Nice job to Paizo and the company.

Because, as CEO of Paizo, she obviously has access to WotC's sales data...

She's quoting ICv2 which has a pretty good reputation at being able to track sales numbers of physical books by getting people like distributors and merchants to report their numbers.

However, this does not IMO mean doom and gloom for WoTC even if they are being outsold in the physical realm since it doesn't factor in things like DDI subscriptions and the like.  I'm not surprised honestly, WoTC has been moving more and more into the realm of digital distribution, something that ICv2 doesn't track.  The balance sheet is just being tallied differently is all.

I'm also speaking as a grongnard who plays stuff that's been out of print for 30 years so I honest to God don't have a dog in this fight.
