Packed with over 50 pages of 4E material, the premier issue offers tons of new crunch, intriguing fluff, and sage advice for 4E DMs and players. Here’s a quick peek at what you’ll find in Level Up #1. Roads to Adventure: Rift of the Hill Giant Thane An exciting 7th level adventure written by Goodman Games’ Harley Stroh Blackdirge’s Bestiary: Natural-Born Killer Six new dinos…I mean behemoths for your 4E game. Deities of Áereth: Gorhan The first in a series of articles on the gods of Áereth, the setting for the popular DCC line; Deities of Áereth: Gorhan explores the worship of the god of war and valor. Includes new feats, magic items, and a paragon path for worshippers of Gorhan. Azagar’s Advice for Adventurers: Choose Your Weapons Part I The infamous hobgoblin warlord dispenses his own brand of curmudgeonly wisdom on the subject of choosing the proper weapon. Includes a dozen new feats that will help you choose the right weapon every time. GM Gems: Fiendish Foes Three new monster templates that allow DMs to make their monsters and NPCs a bit more “fiendish.” Includes the following templates: demon knight, hell beast, and hellfire adept. PC Pearls: Weapon Focused Warriors Three new paragon paths for martial characters focused on a particular weapon. The cudgel thug gives club-wielding rogues a real wallop; the crimson cleaver lets fighters bring the pain with the greataxe; and the arbalestier actually gives the ranger a reason to use the crossbow. | #3gloreindlApr 29, 2009 16:30:33 | I signed up for a subscription a few months back, and the 1st issue did not disappoint! I recommend this to anyone who wants to not only use Dragon & Dungeon magazines to spice up your campaign, but want to have a number of other sources to chose from. :bounce: |
| #4goodmApr 30, 2009 6:31:06 | Is there a list of stores where this will be carried? I'd like to pick this up, but I'm not sure if any FLGS in my area have it. Two answers to that question: (1) What's your local area, and which stores would you prefer to have carry it? We'd be happy to call them and make sure they place orders. (2) For a list of stores that carry our products, visit: http://www.goodman-games.com/retaillocator.html Hope that helps! |
| #5celloshaneApr 30, 2009 9:37:59 | Perfect, my FLGS is on the list! |
| #6AndronApr 30, 2009 10:35:03 | Were FLGS able to order this through Diamond distributors? I asked the owner of the local comic/game shop to obtain a copy for me but have yet to go there and find out if he got it or not. Unfortunately I did not see his store on the Goodman Games list. I am definitely looking forward to this since Goodman always puts out a really nice product. ***Update*** I guess he couldn't get it, his supplier was sold out and another had no idea what he was asking for anyway. I'll either have to go to the FLGS that is registered with Goodman Games, though I hate doing business with them since they have questionable business practices, or just order it directly. |

I asked the owner of the local comic/game shop to obtain a copy for me but have yet to go there and find out if he got it or not. Unfortunately I did not see his store on the Goodman Games list. Yes, it was available through Diamond, and all other game stores. The first wave of shipments sold out but most distributors are now back in stock. Give me the contact info for your preferred store, and I'll make sure they can get it in stock! |
| #8cnathMay 01, 2009 22:04:06 | Not sure which distro my flgs went through, but he had my copy waiting and several on the end counter for people to buy... Having read through my copy I can say without a doubt that I'd have paid tripple the price for that magazine without considering myself shortchanged, reading through it was quite enjoyable and I'm considering picking up another copy if there are any left to hand off to my DM who is low on funds at the moment. (he is only playing 4e so he won't be likely to be DM'ing it, but I think he would still enjoy it.) |
| #9jlaurhughes_dupMay 02, 2009 2:24:26 | As soon as one of the three locations here get the magazines in I will be picking up a copy or two myself. Had been waiting for the release, and now that it has been released I think I still have to wait a week, damned border. |
