Hey, I am new to D&D. I have recently started playing with a few friends from work and I love the game. However, I have a question.  I have told my 7 year old son about it and he wants to try it or something like it.  Is there and simpler RPG or RPG-like game out there that a seven year old could pick up, play and enjoy? Thanks!

the good news is they do exist.

the bad news is most places don't stock them, you need to find a good game store.

What edition are you playing? 4e is actually pretty easy to learn, and my 8 year old daughter picked up the basics very easily. Also, check out the Dragon Strike board game. It was made back in the day by TSR and you can sometimes find them on ebay. It's basically a very simplified version of old school D&D. My daughter started playing that when she was 4 or 5 I think and has had a blast with it. The best part is that you can take the two double-sided boards and all the miniatures (which are all D&D monsters) and use them during your D&D games too.
