New to RPGs, need some help

Hello, first of all I want to say that I am a complete newbie in terms of RPGs so excuse my ignorance.


Anyways, I got some questions, and hope the veterans can answer me.


 


First of all, I understand that there is a warcraft rpg using the d20 system. Does anyone have any experience with it, and would it be a good choice for a newcomer?


Second, I understand that these RPGs are called pen and paper for a reason but if I want to represent my characters, dungeons and so on what am I supposed to buy because I only see books with rules for the role playing games but no figures?


For example if I want to play the warcraft RPG are there some item packs or whatever where I can find figures that represent heroes, character sheets, dungeon maps and so on? Or am I supposed to buy the warcraft miniatures and use them in the rpg (and I actually wonder the same thing about the D&D role playing game) This subject is something I can't quite understand, and I would be happy if experienced players can give me some answers.
