Time to resurrect their memories! :D Got a favorite oldie but goody you'd like to discuss and maybe even find players for? Bring it up here. Personally, I have a soft spot for horror themed RPGs, particularly Kult and Nightlife. Kult was a "reality is a lie" kind of set-up where the comforts of modern life were a thin veil hiding the horrific and brutal supernatural horrors underneath. Nightlife was a kind of beer and pretzels version of the World of Darkness with rules for most of the classic Hammer Horror movie style monsters all thrown together into one PC group. |

Most of out of print games, I got rid of for a reason- I didn't like them including most of the old TSR games that I got my start with. That said, I reallly miss Top Secret SI. In my opinoin, it's still one of the best games and the only WOTC game that rivals it, imo, is d20 Modern. Alternity is another one that looked interesting, but I discovered it right before it was canceled. Then there are Angel and Buffy from Eden Games which I wanted to try, but they too went out of print (However, there is a chance that Eden might regain the license). |

Certainly, there are some kinks to the system, which have been corrected in later versions, but for ease of play on both sides of the screen and capturing the feel of the original Star Wars trilogy this was the RPG. LUG's ICON Star Trek - Just started a PBP with this OOP RPG and it reminds me why I thought this short-lived RPG was one of the best out there. It was a shame WotC bought out LUG, I often wonder how that company would have developed if it had more time than just a few years. |

Champions. It was actually easier to deal with than 5th ed HERO system, and probably the best superhero mechanics I ever played. |

Reichstar - Alternate far future where WWII was won by the Axis powers. Jackboots have never been more fashionable. Space Opera - One of the few games where a slide ruler came in handy in character creation. Traveler - Nothing says fun like rolling up a character and having it die before the game even starts. Albedo - Critters in space! Humans are gone and self-aware animals rule the universe. Paranoia - The Computer is your friend. Keep your laser handy. |
