| #1lord_qzipJul 31, 2008 23:35:14 | So, I'm making my own little RPG game for WW2 and I've got a lot done. Looking at the miniatures for WW2 I see lots of different scales. In picking the right scale for my game and my pocket book, I need to know the size a basic foot soldier would be in a given scale. Since I can't exactly take a ruler to the models, how can I figure out how big a square is supposed to be? Assumptions: all squares represent 5'. The normal DnD scale is 1:60 (1" squares = 5'. 5' = 60". 1:60 scale). This is too large for a normal sized table (I think the table we play on is 4' by 6', but about 1.5 feet are chopped off of all sides by people's crap!) because of the range of weapons involved (without taking some artistic license in this area which I might have to do...). Scales I remember finding: 1:60 (horribly expensive models), 1:72 (common models), 1:100 (Flames of War), and 1:216(?). There's gotta be some mathmatical way of finding out, but I can't figure it out and no one's giving me an answer besides "buy some and base them so you can compare". Which I'd rather not do for the obvious money sink. Please help! |

Division or Corp? |
