Hi all!

After a year playing the new edition of our beloved DnD I can't say I ever was so escited about a RPG system like the new one!

Many things I wished and wondered got materialized in DnD 4E. But nothing is all perfect, of course...

One of the classes that took me attention was the Swordmage presented in Forgotten Realms Player Guide. But I'm finding too hard to find a way to put it logically on Role Play. When we look to Fey Step of eladrins we can easily say that after teleportates, eladrins get tired or aren't allawed to call the link with the Feywild for 5 minutes. But Swordmages have the option to chose the Aegis of Assalt at 1st lvl giving them virtually infinite uses of teleportations. What bugs me is the fact the swordmage can't teleportate on non combat events like pass to another side of a river without get wet or climbs a wall without using his hands.

How you my friends would deal on your tables with that? What could explain a person that teleports in combat being incapable to teleport off combat?.

The only clue I have is that these powrs seens to be atached with the presence of a creature and a condition, so im came to think in something like a magical bound imposed by the Swordmage. But what could block a character to mark (create a magic bound) between a friend on non combat events and alow him to teleport around the target?

I'd be very happy if you could help me 8)
