| #2YunruAug 21, 2014 9:57:28 | Haven't checked the others but RAW B is a better situation than you suggest. Any situation where you make an attack with a ranged weapon you're proficient in you can take a -5 to atk to do +10 damage. That should include melee attacks with a ranged weapon too. |

| #10YunruAug 21, 2014 17:21:02 | It's listed in the PHB. It defines ranged weapons as "weapons used to make ranged attacks", which a throwing axe qualifies as.
EDIT: PHB P.146: "A melee weapon is used to attack a target within 5 feet of you, whereas a ranged weapon is used to attack a target at a distance." |
