Ability Checks, Saves and Attacks

I am a little bit confused by difference between ability checks, saves and attacks in relation with some buff spells.

So from what I understand Ability Check, Saves and Attacks are three different things, if spell gives bonus for example only to ability checks it gives bonus only to that (ability checks and skills) not to saves and/or attacks.

Bardic Inspiration, for example, specifically states it gives bonus to all three.

Does Enhance Ability spell give advantage only to ability checks? or also to saves and attacks?
Because by RAW it gives advantage only to ability checks (this is atleast how I understand it). Which is little strange...

However it gets stranger when you consider Bear's Endurance, Constitution has no associated skills. Things listed under Constitution checks on page 177 could as well be Consitution saves (for example "March or labor for hours without rest"). Which makes Bear's Endurence kinda useless (if by RAW applies only to ability checks).

I know I am probably overcomplicating this.
