| #2melloredMar 12, 2015 8:08:48 | It applies to the triggering attack.
And it's not too good. You still take 1/2 damage and any other effects. Compaired to evasion, shield, shield master, or even tasha's hidious laughter, which can completely negate an attack. |
| (Reply to #2)jonathanlhammer | That's true, however an Arcane Tricker with it is all kinda of sexy. |

Compare Protection from Energy - 3rd level, you have to pick your energy type beforehand, costs an action, lasts one hour (concentration).
Absorb Elements is waaaaay better. I would (almost) always choose that over the 3rd level spell. It's the kind of power creep the devs should probably avoid.
..... but I would not call it OP. It is very strong, but it is defensive only, and does cost a 2nd level slot. |

| #10SoulmancerMar 14, 2015 14:00:52 | It is a spell made mostly for rangers Eldritch knights and somewhat arcane trickster. I don't play any of those classes, but think it sures up those classes pretty nicely. |
| #11RhennyMar 14, 2015 15:10:18 | I'm a big fan of the reaction defensive spells like this one and shield. They really fit the image of a spellcaster who can use flash magic to save his bacon. It is cinematic and adds an interesting choice during combat. Thumbs up! |

| #13melloredMar 15, 2015 8:00:14 | they still need a reaction teleport. possibly 4th level. |

| #15UndrhilMar 15, 2015 11:32:44 | It doesn't take away anything from the fey warlock. Does having the Find Familiar spell take away from the Pact of the Chain warlock? No.
A reaction teleport would be nice to have, but it would have to work such that it negates the attack before I would consider it stepping on the toes of Misty Escape, since Misty Escape doesn't even do that. |
