#1 Illithidbix Dec 06, 2014 17:20:29	So there are a fair few monsters in 5E that are resistant or immune to damage from non-magical weapons that aren't silvered. Lycanthropes, lots of devils and some undead. Silver weapons are happily in the equipment list. Silvered Weapons Some monsters that have immunity or resistance to nonmagical weapons are susceptible to silver weapons, so cautious adventurers invest extra coin to plate their weapons with silver. You can silver a single weapon or ten pieces of ammunition for 100 gp. This cost represents not only the price of the silver, but the time and expertise needed to add silver to the weapon without making it less effective.
#2 cowleymen Dec 06, 2014 21:46:59	I would like to see something like the old keen quality, that gives you extra chances to get a critical. I would stack this with the Champions ability as well though. Do you think that would be to powerful? Crits are less powerful in this eddition since they dont max out normal damage, but they are still insanely fun to get. Over all, maybe its going to come out in a splat book? I cant think of one that they might fit really well in over just getting a list for how much it cause to have a weapon made from it. To be honest, I would proabably tack on 500 gp to the price of a weapon to get it made from adamantime. I dont have a dmg yet, is mythrial back to being just a few specific armors? or is it a template that can be added to any type of metal armor? edit IM sad to see cold iron go,I know it has a strong fey connection, and I loved a lot of what 4e did to bring the feywild to life. I also like the idea of cold iron being used to keep any being from being able to teleport away.
#3 Kalani Dec 07, 2014 7:35:07	Unless I too have missed it - I believe the adamantine weapon(s) got cut from the book during editing. In an effort to help find it (in case we were overlooking it), I even went as far as to relook at the magic item crafting rules, as well as went entry-by-entry in the magic item section on the off-chance that it was labled funny (such as weapon, adamantine), sword of adamantine or something to that effect. It shouldn't be too hard to introduce adamantine however, based on the silver weapon option in the PHB. Edit: The only reference I can find is the following entry: Special Features (DMG p141-142) What minor property does it have? Strange Material (13): The item was created from a material that is bizarre given its purpose. Its durability is unaffected.
#4 Caliburn Dec 08, 2014 6:51:29	I have just ruled that Adamantine Weapons have the Unbreakable feature and are the only weapons that CAN critical against Adamantine Armour. Also they effect Golems etc. as the MM states.
#5 imredave Feb 02, 2015 20:57:56	Apparently in the rules as written, lacking magic weapons one must bash the monster using ones adamantine armor as an improvised weapon (perhaps one could rework ones adamantine armor into adamantine shanks in ones downtime). Given the paucity of magic weapons in general, fighting the flesh golem in a certain 5-8 level adventure proved very challenging indeed for the party of 5th levels I was game mastering.
#6 seti Feb 03, 2015 5:11:57	I'm not mad they left out cold iron. There's nothing in the MM that has a weakness to it. But yeah...Leaving out admantine weapons is an oversight; as the MM mentions it. I guess they want you to just hand out +1 weapons... Personally, I like more properties (keen, serrated, ghost touch, masterwork, etc.) and more materials (admantine, mithril, obsidian, cold iron, redsteel, silvered, etc.) in my games. DIY.
