In this spell it says you can cast it at a higher level and affect more than one target.  My question is do all targets have to benefits from the same effect or can I pick a different stat to enhance for each target?

My reading of it is that you only pick 1 stat per casting.

Compare to sorcerer twin spell which lets you cast the spell twice.

In other words you are only casting it once.

It is probably abusive if a DM house rules to let u pick for each target.  Mostly because advantage on dexterity checks for the rogue and advantage on strength for the fighter is really strong.

That might still be worse than haste on 1 target though.

I don't think its that clear cut.

It says you touch a creature and then choose an effect.

HIgher slots let you touch a second creature... stands to reason you would follow the same process and choose another effect.

If the spell said to pick an effect, and then touch the target I would agree with only 1 effect.

1 spell being cast, 1 concentration effect, 1 ability choice.

If you cast it on 1 person you dont get to choose strength and dex.  Because it only lets you pick once.

Cast in a 3rd level slot, you arent casting it on 1 and then casting it again on the other.   You are casting it once, then the effect you choose applies to 2 people.

Coredump is correct for the most part. I only disagree about touching one target, then the next, then the next. I think you would need to be touching all the targets when you cast the spell since they need to be in range for the spell when it is cast. So if you were to use a 9th level slot to cast Enhance Ability on 8 targets, they would all need to be in contact with you one way or another. In this case if everyone touched the caster I would say the caster is also touching them and meets the range requirement. But it does specifically say you choose one of the following effects, the target gains the effects. It is directly related to each target.

Good feedback folks, i really appreciate it and that you all kept is civil  Sounds like it could go either way, I'll probably let the players choose different effects for different targets and see if that breaks anything.  I want them to get mileage out of using a higher level slot, that's a big deal.  If it makes things too powerful, then I'll retcon it and they can deal with it Thanks again.
