The book reads u choose from warlock spell list and patron expanded spell list for those 6 spells. I have also seen choosing 6 spells from warlock spell list and automatically get the patron spells. So 12 spells ready. Which is the official version. thanks. |

A 5th-level Warlock gets 6 known spells, period. Full stop. They don't get to add their patron spells to that total. They must choose to learn them like any other spell. |

It's an easy mistake to make. By the time you get to warlock you've seen the other 4 classes add their subclass bonus spells the same way, you assume warlocks do it the same way and don't read it as carefully as you might. |
