|
| #2transcendantviewerMay 05, 2015 14:53:19 | The description is simply worded strangely. It means that you simply gain an additional action. |

| #4durntaurMay 05, 2015 16:21:36 | The staging of the question is confusing, but I think I understand what is being asked and transcendantviewer hit the nail on the head: Action Surge does not provide a second bonus action. |
| #5NoctaemMay 05, 2015 17:02:02 | It's like saying:
You get an apple and possibly an orange on your turn.
When you use action surge you gain an additional apple on top of the apple and possible orange you would normally have. |

The wording is a bit clumsy, but this is how it is meant

| #11BumpoMay 05, 2015 18:02:01 | Not everyone gets a bonus action. Some characters have no abilities that grant them bonus actions or are ou of resources which might grant them bonus actions. Therefore, the bonus action is only 'possibly' available. |
| #12transcendantviewerMay 05, 2015 20:14:53 | Dude... You're trying too hard. Let it go. Yes, it's written strangely, but no, it doesn't grant an additional bonus action. The way it's worded is meant to be interpreted as follows: You can take one additional action, on top of your regular action and a possible bonus action on your turn. Now, that's technically an Oxford's Comma, but it's meant to be there for the sole purpose of derailing this argument once and for all. I can't tell you how many times I've seen forum threads open up about this exact question and just keep going and going, and going, and going... It's just exhausting. They just go until the OP realizes they're beating a dead horse. So please, save us all the headache and go talk to your DM. Or, if you're feeling ambitious, send a message to Wizards directly and hear a response from the source. And please, by all means, feel fulfilled by my response if your sole intent was to troll. You found someone to take the bait. Good job. |
| #13WilliamCQMay 05, 2015 20:54:00 | On most forums, and with few exceptions, I always make a search before starting a thread and will usually go through 5-10 pages, inspecting threads that seem promising, and I usually start with an apology about my search (which could be skipping a very close thread (to my problem)). I did the same on this one showing no thread neither a message mentioning the search failed but the message

| #20Rya.ReisenderMay 06, 2015 11:23:57 | Why so complicated?
Usually you have 1 action and 1 possible bonus action.
If you use action surge, you have 2 actions and 1 possible bonus action. |
| #21CraggleRockMay 06, 2015 11:24:39 | The other possibility for the wording may be to clarify that the aditional action doesn't replace you're bonus action: you get two actions, a move, and a bonus if you choose, not just two actions and a move. |
| #22ArialBlackMay 07, 2015 8:05:10 | You get an additional action, not an additional turn. |
