Bullywug can't use Giant Frogs as mounts

Fluffwise Bullywug are about the same height of a halfing, and in the monster manuel fluff it says they use Giant Frogs as mounts. Even in Hoard of the Dragon Queen, the Bullywug have an abundance of Giant Frogs which you think they would be used as mounts, just like lizard folk ride Giant Lizards. However both Bullywug and Giant Frogs are medium sized, meaning Bullywug can't use Giant Frogs as mounts. Is this an oversite or am i missing something?

Giant toads are large.

 

I don't really see any reason why a toad should be that much bigger and stronger than a frog, so I'd just say that giant frogs and toads both come in medium and large varieties.
