#1 Shade007 Feb 22, 2015 5:26:15	The DMG states that if a spell is on your class's spell list you can cast a spell from a scroll, otherwise the scroll is unintelligible. Mage Armor is not on the Warlock spell list so RAW Warlock's can't use scrolls of Mage Armor. However, Warlocks do get a variant of Mage Armor (self only) via the Armor of Shadows Invocation. So would you as a DM:   1. Allow a Warlock to use a scroll of Mage Armor without penalty. 2. Allow a Warlock to use a scroll of Mage Armor without penalty if they know the Armor of Shadows Invocation.  3. Allow a Warlock to use a scroll of Mage Armor but restrict it to self only.  4. Not allow a Warlock to use a scroll of Mage Armor at all. 5. Some other variant (please specify).   Thanks.

#3 Jenks Feb 22, 2015 8:02:45	I would rule no.     If you want to talk literally, Made Armor != Armor of Shadows in name.   If you want to talk more naritively, they have 2 completely different sources.

(Reply to #5) Shade007	Thanks for the answers. I also think the answer is No.    By extension, Warlocks also can't use scrolls of other spells that they only get via invocations, such as bane or slow.
#7 SterlingRat Feb 24, 2015 12:15:36	I would actually think yes, but only if they have the invocation (thus making the scroll useless in this case, but useful for the 1x per day invocations). And that would only be at my table - I believe that RAW would say No to that.
