#1 lkwpeter May 20, 2015 12:59:44	Hey there,   I have got a question concerning "secret casting". E.g. you are standing in front of several persons and want to charm the leader of them. Charm Person requires verval and somatic component. So how do I do this ?  In 3.5E we could take the talent "silent spell".   Can I just whisper and do my gestures within the long sleeves of my cloak? How does it work?   Would be glad about help!   Thanks in advance,   Peter
#2 mellored May 20, 2015 13:04:47	There are no rules for it so it's upto your DM.  I rule that all verbal spells are at a normal talking volume and hand gestures can be hidden with an opposed Dex vs Wis check.  Or if your already hidden.   The sorcerer has meta-magic to specificly allow this.
#3 MrHotter May 20, 2015 13:09:50	Hold two fingers up and make a circular motion in front of who you want to charm. At the same time say, "These are not the adventurers you are looking for." Those who are not a target of the charm spell will scratch their head and wonder what the heck is happening.
#4 Nevvur May 20, 2015 13:15:35	The State of Mulmaster for Adventurer's League provides a rule you may like to incorporate and/or modify, described under Hiding Your Casting.   "In order to distract witnesses from the casting or to make them think a magic item was used, as a Bonus Action a character may attempt a Charisma (Deception) or Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) skill check (player’s choice) with DC equal to 8 + the level of the spell being cast."
