Hello, a bit of confusion here. I'm making a 1st level Cleric with a Wisdom score of 15(+2), assuming I automatically gain bless and cure wounds via Life Domain, how many more spells should I be writing down on my character sheet?

I understand you prepare spells equal to my Wis mod(+2) + cleric level(+1) so I would prepare 3 1st level spells but could only use 2 because of the amount of spell slots, but how many 1st level spells should I be writing down on my character sheet? Thanks

Or am i simply writing down them ALL. And marking the prepared bubble when after a long rest

For your example you would prepare bless, cure wounds, and three more 1st level spells, for a total of five prepared spells.

You would have two 1st level spell slots with which to cast them. You could use them to cast either the same prepared spell twice or two different prepared spells once.

You would also know three cleric cantrips which do not require preparation or use spell slots.

Edit: You could write any unprepared spells on the character sheet without the bubble filled, but eventually you might have trouble fitting all cleric spells on the sheet. The cleric does know them all, and can take time every day to change which spells are prepared.

You have access to all 1st level spells (think of them all being in your 'spell book')

You then mark off which five you prepare with bubbles

I would put your domain spells at the top of the list, as they never change

I would probably look through the cleric list and pick those I think I would use most often and write those down. When the Player's Handbook comes out I would suspect that you won't fit all cleric spells on the sheet (nor want to use all cleric spells).
