Im playing a cleric known as Ragnar-Honorblade and i have these things called domain spells. here is the rules for the domain spells

" Each domain has a list of spells- its domain spells- that you gain at the cleric levels noted in the domain

description .Once you gain a domain spell, You always have it prepared and it dosent count aginst

the number of spells you can prepare each day."

Now when i read that i was wowed. I thought that i could use the spell over and over again like you would a cantrip and not have to have it be re-prepared each day. My DM says that i can use it and it dosent count as my spell slot but i can keep using it as long as i have spell slots open each use takes up a spell slot. I dont think thats what the rule means but could someone clarify this rule for me?

Your DM is right. The first paragraph of the "Preparing and Casting Spells" section states regarding spell slots:
The Cleric table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

At the beginning of each day, you get to pick Wis + your cleric level (+ domain spells) that you can cast that day.

To cast any of your spells, you need to use a spell slot.  (except cantrips, which are at-will).

Ehm, whoops. That's what I get for posting in a hurry. Yes, 2nd level. (The main point about casting not erasing spells still holds, as does the lesser point about spells only being prepared once.)

Think of a prepared spell (not a cantrip) as a pouch containing an infinite amount of a certain type of bullet. After a long rest I reach into my bag and pull out a number of pouches I want to use that day. The number of pouches I can grab depends on the factors as described above. As a Life Domain Cleric, I always have my Bless and Cure Wounds pouches equipped, and I pick 4 other ones (determined by my level + ability modifier) to strap on. Now that I'm equipped, it's time to sling some spells!

But wait... how does my gun work? Your gun is a revolver that has a certain number of slots in it. You can think of this revolver's drum as getting larger as you level. At first it only has 2 small caliber slots to fit a bullet into. After a while I get more if those smaller caliber slots as well as some larger caliber ones. I can fit a smaller caliber bullet into a larger caliber slot, sometimes giving the bullet a greater effect, but I can never fit a larger caliber bullet into smaller caliber slot.

When I want to cast a spell, I reach into the pouch containing the spell I want to cast, grab a bullet, put it in my gun, and fire. Once the bullet is fired, the shell casing remains in my revolver, making the slot unusable, until I finish a long rest to unload.

Hopefully you know enough about guns for the analogy to make sense. It the best way I can describe prepared spells and spell slots to someone new to the system.
