| #1Batla76Dec 14, 2014 21:06:23 | The spell "Contingency" states that when it is cast, it expends the spell slots for the contingency spell and the contingent spell during the casting of the spell. However, it has a duration of 10 days. It seems like you could cast this during downtime (causing you to utilize the two spell slots) take a long rest and then regain the spent spell slots. Essentially you gain two extra spells per day if it is played like this. Is this the case or do you not regain those slots untill the Contingency goes off? |

Contingency is excellent for things like casting lv5 Cure Wounds, (granted you have both spells,) for when you drop to 0 hp. That way you stay in the game, without having to rely on external healing. |

So in essence, this gives the user the ability to cast two spells in a round as long as they 'do' what is required to trigger the Contingency.
Of course, triggers which require a certain circumstance which don't require an action are also very useful, but either way, the user has an extra spell that day... |
