#1 RavingDork Sep 29, 2015 15:10:05	What precisely do I get to choose when creating a custom background for my character? The verbiage in the Player's Basic Rules document is rather confusing. I can't tell if I'm supposed to modify an existing one, or simply start picking skills and proficiencies.
#2 Tempest_Stormwind Sep 29, 2015 18:12:20	It's pretty pick-and-choose, depending on your character needs and what your DM permits. I, personally, usually just use a stock background with whatever fluff I wish to give it, and occasionally swapping background features as needed. (Example: Entertainer (Gladiator) with Bad Reputation as a pit fighter heel).
