#1 breislord Aug 08, 2015 19:12:53	Help friends my group is having some issues with how to rule out the lvl 10 Diplomacy Skill power Cr for Mercy from the PHB3. it says that the target gains +4 to all defences until the end of the casters next or until the target is no longer bloodied. now this is where we have the issue. we cant come to agreement as to which condition should be met first, the end of next turn or until no longer bloodied. now the reason we have this issue is that we dont see a point to put in the "until no longer bloodied" part unless that condition was the primary condition needing to be met, as our thinking is that the " end of next turn" condition will 99.9% o the time be met before the "until no longer bloodied" condition. so we are thinking that sense they took the time to put the "until no longer bloodied" part in there that they are wanting that to be met before the "end of next turn" condition.   sorry about the long post this has been bugging my group for sometime now.
#2 Mad_Jack Aug 08, 2015 21:57:10	That's a 4th Edition question. This is the 5th Edition Rules forum.   Regardless, whichever one of those conditions applies first is when the bonus ends. It's an either/or situation. It's entirely possible for a party member to heal the person getting the bonus before the caster's next turn so that they're no longer bloodied, and thus no longer recieve the bonus.   If the person recieving the bonus ends up no longer being bloodied (for whatever reason) before the end of the caster's next turn, the bonus goes away the instant they're no longer bloodied. (They no longer meet the conditions under which the bonus applies, so they lose it as soon as they no longer meets those necessary conditions.)   If the person recieving the bonus is still bloodied when the caster's next turn comes around, they lose the bonus because the stated duration of it ran out.

#5 Mad_Jack Aug 11, 2015 11:59:52	The main advantage/point of keeping specific-edition questions in the correct forums is that you're likely to get a better, more correct answer in those particular forums - aside from people in a different forum just not answering the question you're asking because it's not relevant to that particular forum's edition, many of the people on that forum may not have played the edition you're asking about in years, if ever, and may not know the correct answer or misremember it.    Keeping the other furums uncluttered with irrelevant questions competing for notice with more pertinent ones and not confusing other people new to the game with cross-edition information is a beneficial side effect.
