| #2melloredAug 18, 2015 5:20:11 | By RAW, i don't think so.
But it seems perfectly reasonable to allow. |
| #3sim-hAug 18, 2015 9:48:35 | No.....get a Life Cleric if that's what you want, not an evoker. |
| #4CooperjeraAug 18, 2015 10:07:17 | For the purpose of the Favored Soul path I made a house ruling that the Favored Soul Spell Casting feature will use the cleric spell list rather than the sorcerer spell list. In addition, I indicated the Empowered Spell metamagic would apply to healing spells as well. I don't have a player using a Favored Soul yet, so I cannot comment on how these change effect game play.
As written though mellored is correct. |
| #5WuzzardAug 18, 2015 14:23:35 | I would allow it. |

Since spells only include 'damage' or 'healing' what is the downside to allowing a Cleric who took three levels of Sorcerer from using Empowered spell with Cure Wounds, for instance? (Aside from it means there's a chance they get off better healing, which means you, as the DM, have to work harder to kill them or their allies.) |

| #10SorsohkaAug 19, 2015 10:38:40 | as Melored said:
by the rule (and in AL) no you cannot empowered a healing spell.
In a home game, anything is possible, the DM can rule that he create a new weapon: the katana which is a finess, reach, heavy, light d12 weapon that can be affected by polearm master, greatweapon master, duelist etc...
but for game balance, I don't see a problem like sated previously, empower cure wound, still cost you the same 2 SP as empowered fireball. Combat healing already sucks and this won'T make it much better (and buolidng a cleric of life, with sorcerer level for empowering cure wound) got drawback on it's own so if it's not in a AL official game, then go for it without worries. |
