Dangerous redundancy

Hi there,

sorry, I'm not a native speaker/writer.

Just now I read the basic rules and there were some redundancies (weapon proficiences for elves and so on). But a special redundancy stuck out to me. As I know, like all of us, the special kind of players and GMs alike who ignore logic in favor of opportunism, I prefer to mention it here:

  1. There is a table, "Character Advancement", which shows the proficiency bonus.
  2. This bonus is repeated in every class table (Cleric, Fighter, Rogue, Wizard)

Sadly, when multiclassing, these tables won't match, as a 9th-lvl-Character (+3) would have only +2 in his multiple classes...

In my opinion, the repeating of the boni in the class-tables is unnecessary and should be deleted for avoiding misunderstanding and strife.

Its last aged on every level so there is NOT any confusion or misunderstanding. When the players handbook goes out they will have a base multi class table.

Sorry, I don't understand "It's last aged"...

It has been hinted by the developers already that when multiclassing you'll just follow the normal progression for Proficiency bonus.

So a multiclass 9th-level character will have the same bonus for his proficiencies as a 9th-level single-class.

It's in the Basic PDF. page 56.

Proficiency Bonus
Your proficiency bonus is always based on your total
character level, as shown in the Character Advancement
table in chapter 1, not your level in a particular class.

So if you all think the redundancy won't be exploited, I'm glad.

Thank you all for the answers.
