Death Saving Throws

Does the paladin's aura of protection or the bless spell modify a roll made for a death saving throw?

RAW: "Roll a d20.  If the roll is 10 or higher, you succeed. Otherwise, you fail."  - pg. 197  So this specifically calls out the roll.

However, in the previous sentence "You are in the hands of fate now, aided only by spells and features that improve your chances of succeeding on a saving throw." - pg. 197

This could just be referring to spells like Beacon of Hope.  Or in the general rules "1. Roll the die and add a modifier ... 2. Apply circumstantial bonuses and penalties ... 3. Compare the total to a target number" - pg. 7

Thoughts?

Yes, Death Saves are a type of saving throw, just one that usually doesn't have any modifiers. A paladin's Aura of Protection will apply to the roll.
