Dispel Magic and Invisible Target

Can you use Dispel Magic on an invisible target? In 3.5 you needed to see the target in order to cast dispel magic on it, but 5th edition doesn't say anything about that. I would probably rule that you need to see target but any opinions?

.. or magical effect within range.  If you can locate the square the invisible person is hiding in you can dispel the effect.   You would need to know where the person is.

You can.

 

Unless they spent an action (or bonus action for rogues) to roll stealth, and beat your passive perception.  Otherwise, just aim where the footprints and clangy noise is.
