Does bearskin allow you to add your Dex

I'm sure this has been asked before, but since the search feature on this forum is not that great I'm asking here.  The wording says the AC can't be below 16, but is that raw ac due to armor or is you "raw" ac 16 and you still get to add Dex bonus on top of that?

Did you mean Barkskin?  If so, it's total AC.

 

If you have an AC of 12 and the spell is cast on you, your AC is 16 while the spell is in effect.  If your AC is 17 and the spell is cast on you, your AC is 17.  If the spell is on you, and something would lower your AC, like removing your armor, the lowest it can go is 16.

Barkskin gives a druid a +5 bonus to AC when wildhsaped into a bear, which I hear is a pretty common thing.

 

That it doesn't also give a huge bonus to the AC of the druid in their natural form or many other PC-type characters is the spell working as intended.
