Does expertise stack?

I'm playing a level 3 Bard, but next level I'm going to multiclass into rogue because a) It fits with my characters background and recent experiences. and b) I want in on that sweet sneak attack bonus. The problem at hand is that both classes offer expertise. I can't find anything in the rules to suggest they don't stack.. My Bardic expertise was applied to Persuasion(origin ly a +4) and Stealth (originally a +5). Can I use Rogue expertise to get a +16 and +20 respectively? And if not why? The multiclass section doesn't mention this feature.

No. Additional slots of Expertise allow you to select more skills to be expert in. Ask your DM, they may allow it but the rules do not. Otherwise you could select double expertise with the two slots you already possessed! But you can't, so no.

No.  The rules say you can only get 1/2, proficency, or double.  Never more.

It's also generally a waste to go higher then double, because the DC's don't go much higher.
