#1 Frrankenstien Oct 06, 2014 12:26:19	Basicly i want to know if i made a say Red dragonborn and i choose to make said dragonborn a Sorrcorer. If i choose the draconic ancestory of a red dragon would the damage from my dragonborn breath get a charsima bonus to damage from the elemental affinity from my dragon ancestory from being a sorrcorer. Because the damage is of fire for the breath.   normal breath weapon of red dragonborn being 8+con mod.+prof. bonus   what i think being a sorrcorer would do is : 8+con mod.+prof. bonus+charisma mod.   what are your thoughts on this guys? I'm new to dnd so thought some experienced players might shed some light on this   should i leave it up to the DM to make a judgment call and be like no u cant or sure that sounds plausible lets do it?
#2 Illithidbix Oct 06, 2014 12:39:32	By the letter of the rules, nope.   Elemental Affinity states "...when you cast a spell that deals damage of the type associated with your draconic ancestry",   BUT the Dragonborn breath weapon isn't a spell.   Otherwise it's up to your DM. I probably wouldn't be too adverse to the idea of the Saving throw DC being 8+Prof. bonus + CHA modifier instead of + CON modifier, but adding both puts the DC way higher than players can normally get it.

#4 Yunru Oct 06, 2014 13:08:18	Dragon Breath is a non-melee weapon attack which doesn't have an attack roll and that you can't use a weapon for. That limits the things that interact with it greatly. Battle Master manuevers should work iirc (or at least some of them)... Unless they require an attack roll.
