#1 Lashan Dec 16, 2014 12:51:29	Hi All,   I am trying to find info on two handed weapon fighting.  Is there no penalty?  Can a lvl 1 character with no special skills, bonuses, etc fight with 2 weapons?  Is there no penalty if they do?  I just can't seem to find anything.   I recall something about it being small weapons - scimitars, daggers, or short swords.    Beyond that, is there a limit?
#2 AaronOfBarbaria Dec 16, 2014 13:03:03	If you are wield a light melee weapon in each hand, when you take the attack action and attack with one of them you can use a bonus action to attack with the other but you do not add your ability score modfiier used in the attack to the damage dealt on this attack.   There is a fighting style some classes get as a class feature option that allows adding the ability modifier to damage on the bonus action attack. There is a feat that allows use of other melee weapons.

#5 Stormborn20 Dec 16, 2014 19:41:08	As mentioned, the main penalties are 1) no ability modifier on the second attack's damage roll, 2) it uses up your bonus action, 3) you must use light melee weapons, 4) you must use both hands, 5) requires two weapons, which is a big deal if you start finding magic weapons.
