| #1mrsrockguruAug 01, 2014 8:48:03 | So how do people think the Eldritch Knight Subclass will be implemented in PHB |
| #2melloredAug 01, 2014 10:24:38 | 1/2 caster (same as the paladin).
With evocation and abjuration spells. |
| (Reply to #2)Overpromises | I expect them to be a ⅓ caster with evocation and abjuration spells, not as good a caster as the paladin. |

| #5TichrimoAug 01, 2014 17:47:50 | And expect a parallel experience with rogue(arcane trickster), except with illusion and enchantment. |

| #7Sands666Aug 02, 2014 0:31:09 | My bets are that they'll match Eldritch Knight to the Paladin, making the class like an Arcane Paladin in a way. The Eldritch Knight might or might not have less spells, but it'll garner abilities that invoke magic through the subclass abilities and will probably be pretty awesome.
Imagining two foes, one an Eldrich Knight and the other a Paladin, brings to mind some cool story ideas... |
| #8mrsrockguruAug 02, 2014 5:31:52 | Ok being that a fighter's main stats are Con & Str - what do you think will be used to generate the spell power...? |

| #10Mephi1234Aug 02, 2014 8:25:57 | Some people think that its 1/3 progression because of the alpha document, which has proven to not be 100 percent accurate. Mike's Tweets called it a half-caster, though, so I'm sticking with that. |

| #12ObeseBoyWonderAug 02, 2014 11:37:55 | I agree Eldritch Knight will probably be 1/3 spellcasting, but I was curious if they'll be able to use an arcane focus (specifically using their weapon as one), as spellcasting foci currently do not call out Fighters as being able to use them. I'm not sure if it's a general thing any character can do, or a class feature. Could a character with Magic Initiate use a spellcasting focus if they weren't a class explicitly called out for using them? |

| #20GladiusLegisAug 04, 2014 14:47:24 | Yeah, what I meant by that was your spellcaster levels adding up to see how many spell slots your character gets. And how, say, an Eldritch Knight/Wizard MC would add 1/3 of his Fighter levels rounded down to his Wizard level to determine the progression of his spell slots beyond just his Wizard level. |

| (Reply to #23)shivafang | Uhm.. Do you mean 'Slots equal to that of a 9th level character'? I can't imagine getting 9th level slots at level 10 for any reason.
