#1 Quad_Hund Jun 02, 2015 10:40:17	PHB  pg. 81 "Eternal Mountain Defense (11th Level Required).  You can spend 5 ki points to cast stoneskin, targeting yourself."   Pg. 80 "The maximum number of ki points you can spend to cast a spell in this way (including its base ki point cost and any additional ki points you spend to increase its level) is determined by your monk level, as shown in the Spells and Ki Points table."   The previous paragraph described up-casting spells.  Also, the pertinent part of the table is that an 11th level monk is only able to spend a maximum of 4 ki points on a spell.    Does this mean that if you select Eternal Mountain Defense at 11th level, you cannot use it till 13th level (when you would be able to spend 5 ki points)?  Or do you ignore the table because you are not up-casting?
#2 Macv12 Jun 02, 2015 16:51:20	It says "cast a spell in this way," referring to up-casting. I'd say ignore it if you're just using the base version of the spell.
