extra attack multiclass questions

Apr 01, 2015 9:25:52		I know you need fighter to gain more then 2 attacks but how far can that go? Could I go ftr 5 barb 5 paladin 5 ranger 5 to get 5 attacks? Or can I only gain 1 extra attacks from multi classing so something like ftr 11 barb 9 for 4 attacks?

It specifies under... Extra Attack on page 164 of the PHB that Extra Attacks don't add together.

 

You can't make more than two attacks with this feature unless it says you do (so a level 11 Fighter as they get three attacks)

Also the Warlock's eldritch invocation "Thirsting Blade" doesn't give additional attacks if you also have Extra Attack.

I wanted to cheese out my Monk5 by tying together Extra Attack + Flurry of Blows, but the rules DO NOT support getting a total of 6  attacks.  (Drat.) 

(Attack + Extra Attack) + (Flurry(1) + Extra Attack) + (Flurry(2) + Extra Attack) is not how it works.
